How much do you charge?
This is often the first question asked, but should actually be the last. Hiring a qualified home inspector can potentially save you thousands of dollars and prevent some major migraines. When looking for somebody to inspect a home for you, you want to hire somebody who is qualified, experienced, thorough, professional, reliable, and trustworthy. Remember the old saying: You get what you pay for.
Before inquiring about price, consider the following questions first.
Why should I hire you instead of somebody who is cheaper?
As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for." You might find somebody who does it cheaper. Ask yourself this though: Do you really want to save $50 now and risk missing potentially serious issues with the home that can cost you thousands of dollars in unexpected repairs later?
You should hire us because we
Cheap inspectors might spend only 45-60 minutes on an inspection. They might not go into crawlspaces or attics, missing potentially serious defects of the foundation or roofing. They might charge you
extra to enter crawlspaces or to inspect older homes. They might only do home inspection part time or on the side and treat it casually. They might barely (or not at all) meet the inspection
minimum set in the home inspection standards of practice.
